TAX INFORMATION You will be required to pay taxes on all of your earnings. Therefore, it is important to keep track of all your expenditures so that you can legitimately write off as many of them as possible. These deductions (if applicable to you) include but are not limited to: office space (see paragraphs below), the rental or purchase of equipment (computers, printers, phones, headsets, etc.), cost of supplies (pens, paper, ink cartridges, rolodex, other general office items, etc.) and office expenses (computer programs, business membership expenses, items purchased to send to customers, postage costs, packaging costs, etc.), instructional products or services (training manuals, books, etc.), monthly fees incurred for telephone service and usage, monthly internet service provider fees, and any advertising fees you may choose to pay out of your own pocket to promote yourself (we do allow contractors to do extra advertising on their own if they wish to do so, but all ads must be pre-approved by administration before being placed online or in newspapers/magazines). OFFICE SPACE DEDUCTION If you work in one particular room or space in your residence and use it solely for your business, you can deduct a portion of your monthly rent or mortgage that is proportionate in relation to the square footage and the amount of money you pay for that space. In other words, lets say that your apartment is 1200 square feet and you use one room which is 300 square feet for business purposes. Since the room is 1/4 of the total square footage of your apartment, you can deduct 1/4 of your total monthly rental costs for your business space. Note: If you work in multiple areas/rooms within your residence and do not use one particular room for business purposes only, you can choose another arrangement to fairly compensate and offset expenses for your home office space by entering into a written, signed and dated agreement with yourself. In this agreement, you can agree to give your business free rent in exchange for payment of your electric bill or cable bill, etc. This should be in proportion to or less than what your business would be allowed to deduct as a legitimate office space expense if you operated your home business out of a single room in your residence. You must be reasonable and fair. If you have any doubts, call your tax preparer or an accountant who can advise you further. All US residents are required to fill out and submit a W-9 Tax Form. PHONE SEX OPERATOR JOB TITLE Not many people want to specify “Phone Sex Operator” as their official, legal job title when they’re filling out paperwork for Uncle Sam, filing taxes with their accountant or telling their child’s teacher (etc.) what they do for a living. Discretion is preferable to most of us. Therefore, creative job titles for phone sex operators are a must! Choose a title that you feel comfortable with… and embrace it. ;) The following job titles are among the most common ones used by phone sex industry workers: * Consultant * Contractor * Customer Service Rep. * Independent Consultant * Independent Contractor * Internet Consultant * Operator On behalf of the Krypton Associates, Inc. phone sex service network team, we wish you the best of luck in the operation of your new home business! |
